Single in Summit.

This morning we received an email from a prospective client who got our information from his sister, one of our established clients.

“My sister gave me your email address and telephone number.  This might be an odd request, but I am a single dad, I work in Manhattan, and although I have a nanny who works for me on a  full time basis, I am looking for a service that will help me on a part time basis.  My nanny is great with the children, but lacks the experience and polish required to handle  some of the more “personal” details I require:  gifting, shopping, recommending local restaurants and the like. 

Next weekend the children will be away at their grandparents’ house.  I have a date coming out to the house in Summit and I will be working all day.  Is it possible to get someone to come  to the house around 3:00 pm, prepare a nice meal, set up the dining room and bring over some flowers?  I know it sounds terrible that I can’t even set-up for my own date, but business is hectic this time of year and I really want to impress this woman.

Cupcakes! Cocktails! Camaraderie!

Happy Monday!

What a wonderful weekend, despite Sunday’s rain.  Saturday we hosted an impromptu backyard barbeque in Summit for 10 couples, and despite the short notice, it really turned out to be a fantastic time.

On Sunday we hosted a cupcakes and cocktails party for a group of great ladies in Short Hills.  And regardless of the soggy weather, these beautiful women enjoyed four hours of camaraderie over (what else?) the most spectacular, colorful cupcakes in New Jersey!  Add a little champagne to the mix, and a great time was had by all.

Delilah, pictured above, said that this party was the most fun she’s had in the past five years of planning it.  Traditionally she’s planned the annual get-together on her own.  This year she’s back at work, has less time with her family, and realized that being Super Mom does not necessarily require being Super Woman. 

“Now that I’m back in the city working, I have a lot less time with my family.  Having done just about everything for everyone and their mother over the last six years of being home, I often feel guilty when I can’t do all the grocery shopping, run car pools, finish errands, fix the bathroom sink…  I’ve finally accepted that asking for ‘help’ does not mean that I’m “less-than.”  It means I’m looking out for the important things, like my husband and our three boys.”

Delilah did reach out for help a few weeks back by calling EVERYTHING DOMESTIC on a friend’s recommendation.  Was she glad she did?

“What a fantastic party it was!  This year’s event was better than ever!  Can I book your services for next year yet?  Seriously, can I?”
